Development

Almer/Blank is a development agency. We specialize in Adobe^® Flash and Adobe^® Flex. Our main focus is in developing Rich Internet Applications (RIAs), built in Adobe^® Flash and/or Adobe^® Flex. Though our main focus in software development is in builing applications, we also provide core functionality and server architecture for these applications. We have experts in ActionScript 2.0 & 3.0, PHP/mySQL, XHTML, CSS, and Javascript. Almer/Blank employs a small, young, talented team of developers who are experts at emerging technologies and whose focus is to stay a step ahead of their peers in the industry.

Design

Almer/Blank has experience designing RIAs, Flex Applications, Flash Applications, User Interfaces, as well as websites (be it XHMTL/CSS, or Flash-based). We have a dedicated design process beginning with a specification phase, followed by UI design and wireframing, which ensures ease of use and the best possible user experience. Graphics and art are then applied, followed by revisions if necessary, until a final design is approved. Implementation of the design continues to be a part of the process while the project is being developed. The final product matches the original design aesthetic into a working, functional product; be it a website or a full-fledged Flex application.

Training

Almer/Blank owns and operates the Rich Media Institute (RMI), Los Angeles, a place of education for Rich Media Professionals. The RMI hosts both public and private classes taught by industry experts on a variety of topics, including Flash, ActionScript, Flex, XHTML/CSS, Papervision 3D, and other technologies.
